but you CANNOT judge ES right now with GC III. you can judge ES right after launch with GC III now, or GCIII if everything is fixed and done. ES is older, and GC III has modern build which is why again you cant compare GC III as it is agaisnt ES.

you dont know what your talking about, or you have not read what ive been posting AT ALL. comparing ES in its "late life cycle" isnt fair to GC III becouse its at the begining. You're talking about spending $30.00 on a polished game against $50.00 on a work in progress. You HAVE to compare what's out there now, not what was out there at release. It should be less expensive by then as well, especially with the Steam sales. If you wait a year or so for GC3, you'll benefit from more bug fixes, better balancing and a better multiplayer experience. I say that as an "Elite Founder" of Galactic Civilizations 3, and one who plays it very often. It indicates that you're not exactly enamored with it either.įor a fun experience, I still say go with Endless Space over Galactic Civilizations 3.

You also haven't been playing GC3 a lot recently. You even admit that even though you don't have it in your profile. Youd have to judge ES by when it came out of beta, not in its current state. Originally posted by Traror:thats also becouse, ES is polished becouse of the time it has.

I will also say that Sins of a Solar Empire has the most mods (several are a lot better than the base game), although GalCiv3 is intended in the long run to have a crapload of mods and both Sins of a Solar Empire and Endless Space are basically done (Endless Space 2 is in production at the moment) whereas GalCiv3 is early in development. In general GalCiv3 will probably turn out to be a better game than Endless Space, but I have a soft spot for Endless Space whereas GalCiv3 hasn't worked out all the rough spots (particularly the AI in GalCiv3 is pretty bad at the moment, and certain elements aren't as developed as its predecessor).Įndless Space is the most interesting when it comes to exploration and colonization (although conversely the combat is rather repetitive and there isn't much graphical variety), Sins of a Solar Empire is the best in terms of combat, and GalCiv3 has a ton of content designed around creating custom ships, factions, and maps, as well as being the best in terms of politics and a lot larger scale than the other two. I will say that of the three, Sins of a Solar Empire is very different from the other two in that it plays more like an RTS than a strategy game aka the goal throughout is just killing everything.
